posted June 28, 2016 in category Renting Zone's Guide to Wroclaw
Summer in the city may be really pleasant. The only thing we should do is to plan to spend a hot day at the waterside. Wroclaw’s swimming zones are great not only for a weekend leisure, but also for an afternoon relax after work. Check out where to sunbathe in the city.
Wroclaw’s citizens love to spend time near some water intake as soon as the sun gets stronger. Swimming pools and special swimming zones are open since 1 June. All amateurs of relaxation near water can go swimming, sunbath on a hot day, or rest after work. Although those places tend to get crowded during the holiday period, everyone will still be able to find some space for themselves. And the over-popular Aquapark in Wroclaw is only one of many facilities offering water leisure.
Swimming Pool in Klokoczyce
Wroclaw suffers from a deficit of outdoor swimming pools. Fortunately, in 2017 things are about to change, as they plan to open a new swimming pool facility near Hala Orbita. This year, however, you can arrange to go to Klokoszyce. It is far away from the city center, so it is best to get there by car. Olympic size of the pool, water slide and kiddie pool is surely enough for everyone.

Morskie Oko
Morskie Oko is the closest swimming zone to Grunwald. It can be easily accessed from any part of the city. Morskie Oko means 5 ha of the water and 10 ha of the beach! It is extremely popular and groups of people from the whole city tend to go there. Thanks to the wide beach everyone can find a nice, private space for themselves. The water slide is an additional attraction. Kiddie pool and children’s playground is also available for families with children.

Glinianki
A similar swimming zone is located at the other side of the city, behind the City Stadium. You can get to Glinianki in any tram going towards Lesnica, e.g. no. 3 or 10. It is a large water intake, under lifeguards’ diligent supervision. The beach is much smaller than in Morskie Oko, so if you plan to go there at a weekend, make sure to arrive early. A quick visit in the afternoon is also a great idea: it is not only cheaper, but it is also easier to find place to swim in peace. WakePark, where you can practice water sports and enjoy evening parties, is a great attraction of Glinianki.

Charge-free swimming zone on Krolewska Street
In 2015 the city opened a public swimming zone in Wroclaw’s Maslice. It has soon become the most popular alternative to Glinianki, as it is located in close vicinity. It is also perfect if you want to organize a barbecue. A large space around the swimming zone is ideal for this kind of parties. The beach itself is very small and crowded. The main disadvantage of this location is the limited parking space, which makes people park their cars as close to the water as possible.
Trip to Nysa
If you feel like travelling a bit further, there is an amazing swimming area in Nysa. 100 km from Wroclaw or over an hour drive and you can enjoy a large lake and a wide beach. You can relax on a sandy beach and admire not only the water, but also Opawskie Mountains. The recreation center is located in a very pleasant place: you can plan a longer stay and rent a cabin. This year the swimming area is open since 15 June. You can also rent a pedalo and take a tour around the lake.

The new swimming area in Paniowice
This year we can also check out the new swimming zone located a few kilometers from Wroclaw boarders. In Paniowice, in the old mine we can swim, play beach ball and relax in a summary atmosphere since July. The organizers plan some evening parties, so dancing is also an option. The entry price for a daily stay is PLN 10. This place is the easiest to reach by car. The swimming zone is near the Voivodeship road no. 342, through Swinary and Szewce to Paniowice.
