Enjoy Wroclaw! [Part 6] Eat cheap

Hunger is something that gets you, no matter how much money is left in your pocket. Don’t let it slow you down! Find the places where your belly can feel as full just as your wallet. Hungry, but don’t have a lot of money to spend? No worries! There are plenty of places in Wroclaw where it is possible to have a full meal and pay “groszys” for it. Take your forks and spoons and run out to fill your belly.

Milk bars – nostalgic feeling

If you are tired of burgers and French fries and starting to miss your mom’s food – milk bars are perfect for you! Those are the nostalgic cafes, offering “home-made” food in very cheap prices.

Miś
This bar is one of the most well-known in the city. It is situated right in the center of Wroclaw - on Kuznicza 48, not far from the main building of the University. Great place to grab a soup for 2zl, a plate of pierogi for 3zl and other traditional Polish dishes almost for free.

If you are patient enough (there is always a huge line in front of the bar), you’ll be able to eat “home-made” food for extremely cheap prices.

Karmazyn

Karmazyn is also quite a well-known milk bar. It can be found inside “Hala Targowa” on Piaskowa 17. I suggest you visit their facebook page once in a while; they announce “giveaways” for certain dishes if you just say the code mentioned in some of their posts. Nice way to grab some food for free!

Meat in the price of rice

Other great places to eat cheaper are cafeterias where you pay for the weight on your plate. The prices for all the products in such places are fixed. Eat meat – pay as if it is rice!

Bazylia
Bazylia cafeterias are situated in 2 parts of the city. One can be found in front of the main building of Wroclaw University on Kuźnicza 47 and another one in the University of Technology, on Wyspiańskiego 23-25. All types of food cost 2,59zl for 100gr, and if you are searching for even better deals, come between 6 and 7pm - everything is 50% cheaper then.

MultiFood STP
MultiFood is really similar to Bazylia - also offers a wide range of dishes for 2,59zl for 100gr and has a 50% discount at the end of the day. If you are a student, you can get 20% off the price throughout the day; however, bear in mind that this discount doesn’t work when the price is already 50% lower.

MultiFood closest to the city center is situated on Kuźnicza 10, but you can also find their other locations here.

Traditionally Polish

Since you are in Poland, one of the most important things to do is to try traditional food, which is delicious, by the way.

Brajt Restaurant
Situated on Odrzańska 18,Brajt Restaurant offers wide range of Polish traditional food for around 6-12zl.

Kurna Chata
Right by the Brajt Restaurant there is Kurna Chata on Odrzańska 17. This is a perfect place not only to try pierogi and zurek inside the bread bowl, but also to enjoy the interior of a Polish traditional house.

Apart from these places, there are plenty of others all around Wroclaw. Find your inner explorer and discover new food destinations in the city!
