Enjoy Wroclaw! [Part 14] Africa in the middle of Wroclaw

Wroclaw is full of attractions, so sometimes it is difficult to plan the weekend because of the number of options. And yet another one is about to open. Did you know that the biggest aquarium in Europe is located in Wroclaw?
 
300 elephants or 100 whales - this is the weight equivalent of the water which is contained in Wroclaw’s aquarium. 140 tones of salt is used to recreate real sea environment for the water animals coming form the other side of the Earth. And on the 26th of October, the long anticipated part of  Wroclaw Zoo - the Afircarium - is about to the open. This is a truly unique facility - people managed to recreate the water environment of the Black Continent in the centre of  Lower Silesia. Coral reef, merry fur seals and dark ocean creatures, sharks and rays of the Mozambique Channel, ecosystem straight from the jungles of the Congo River, 50 species of fish from the Great Lakes region - these are just some of the attractions of this unusual aquarium. And most importantly - there is no other place like that in Europe. One visit gives us at least three hours of amazing adventure.
 

When does it open?

On 26th of October! And due to the opening of this facility, additional tram lines will be operating to take people to the station Zoo Wroclaw. Trams 1, 2, 4 and 10 will come more often.
 

Entrance Price

Entry ticket to Africarium does not differ form the ticket to the Zoo. The regular price is PLN 30, and the discount ticket is PLN 20. And all students who are younger than 26 years old are entitled to get a discount ticket.
 

When can I see the Africarium?

The opening hours depend on the season and the length of the day. In the autumn, it will available for visit from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. In the winter, it will be opened form 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, you can plan a visit in this remarkable place even on a holiday - Africarium is opened 365 days a year!
